Spring is coming - trust me. A walk around Charlotte told us that. The cherry blossom smell is just too good.
Lots of building going on downtown including the NASCAR Hall of Fame. No better city for that.
There's still a buzz here for hometown hero, Stephen Curry's NCAA tournament run for Davidson. As you probably heard, LeBron went to watch Curry and the Wildcats while the Cavs were in Detroit last weekend. So, tonight Del Curry's son will be here to meet LeBron and watch his Dad's former team.
Curry, a national player of the year finalist, has Dad's stroke reincarnated - it's freeky identical.
We'll try and interview him tonight on Cavaliers Live at 6:30, see you then.

Jekyll and Hyde
From blustery Milwaukee we come to you, where the Bucks are coming off two impressive home wins over Detroit and Denver. They also lost recently at home to the Clippers and Knicks. So it’s been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde act, but talent? They have plenty - Andrew Bogut has been lights out since the turn of the calendar to ’08, while Mo Williams and Michael Redd have been scoring big. So, this will be a stern test...
If the Cavs get Anderson Varejao back tonight, that will be huge. Andy says it feels like he hasn’t even played this season, missing 21 games with the contract holdout and another 13 with the ankle sprain. Mike Brown’s task will be to find the balance of minutes for Andy, Z, Ben and Joe. A pleasant problem to have, but a challenge none the less. I am intrigued to see the times when Joe Smith plays the 3, LeBron the two, and then a combination of Z/Andy/Ben at the 4-5. This will happen in certain match-ups...
But clearly once Daniel and Sasha get back, this team goes 11 deep, and you can’t play all 11. It will Mike’s toughest job since he has been in Cleveland to find the right mix, and make guys understand he can’t play everyone, every night...but when the goal is winning it all, egos have to take a back seat. All of these guys can play multiple positions and because of this I think the defensive numbers are going to come down, even though we are in the “getting to know you” period...
See you tonight on FSN...

What Time Zone Are We In Now?
The ping pong ball better known as our west coast trip continues...let's see...the 4th time we've had to adjust our watches...back to the pacific time zone here in Sacramento. We arrived from Utah about 2:00 a.m. in the morning...tough finish to that game...but I liked the way the guys competed.
In fact, LeBron has been very encouraged by how this team has played. After the 2 point loss to the Jazz, I could see it in his face in the lockeroom, and hear it his voice. He knows the Cavs were in position to win all three games out here. That's saying a lot, considering all three were playoff teams a year ago. I really think the unselfish ball movement mentality is taking root. Yes, turnovers are part of the growing pains, as we saw again last night...but you will see a difference in the way this team scores as the season goes along.
The club is very shorthanded right now, but no one is using it as an excuse...and LeBron feels the team is playing better than it did a year ago at this time...and I agree. He continues to have his best start as a defender....adding he wants to become first-team all defense..9 blocks in 3 games is a start...his activity level at that end has been fantastic..
Yesterday, Deron Williams of the Jazz was quoted as saying LBJ was the center of Team USA's defense in August...he was doing most of the talking, helping everyone out. I'm sure it's carried over to the Cavs season.
Talk to you tomorrow after shoot-around...thinkin' about that Browns upset in the 'Burgh on Sunday.
