Just like Magic vs Bird, LeBron vs Carmelo will always be tracked as long as they remain in the NBA. This will be the 9th head to head meeting between the two fast friends and draft mates of '03, meaning 'Melo has missed one of the Cavs-Nuggets get togethers since they came into the league. Denver is 6-2 in those 8 games so far.
Both LeBron and Carmelo actually average less against each other than the rest of the league. LB averages 21.6 against the Nuggets, compared to his 27.1 NBA average. Anthony averages 19.6 against the Cavs, nearly 5 points a game less than his lifetime league average.
The reason? Certainly not pressure to perform, but I'm sure they do tend to neutralize each other with their multiple talents. The only number that means anything to either player is that win-loss record, something King James hopes to amend tonight.
