Tough task in Atlanta, as the banged up Cavs come in on a back to back. The guys got to the hotel about 2:30 this morning following the loss in Houston. Daniel Gibson and Drew Gooden will be game time calls on their respective hamstring and groin ailments.
The Cavs, still #1 in the league in rebounding will have to do gang glass work tonight. Last night they were minus-20 in that department and it killed them. Tonight, they face the athletic Hawks. Al Horford is coming off a 20 rebound game against the Lakers on Wednesday night, while Josh Smith has come very close to triple doubles in their last two games including 9 blocks against Philly on Monday night.
The Hawks sure look as though they are playoff bound for the first time since the lockout year. Their 8 seasons without the post-season is the longest drought in the NBA, but this team has turned the corner. They are still a team with shooting concerns, but they love to run out and use their speed and athleticism (they're 4th in the league in fast break points). So, it all gets back to how well the Cavs rebound tonight, to try and keep these Hawks under control.
See you tonight in FSN.
